After installing the Tailwind app on your Android phone you will be prompted to grant certain permissions. Below is one that can be difficult to find, especially for Samsung users. As of Android 14, Google made changes to the way apps work in the background. As a result, we had to create a special notification category for the auto-open and auto-close features to work.
If you see a pop up that asks you to grant the "auto-open enabled" notification permission as shown above, but you cannot find that permission, please follow the steps below.
NOTE: If you have a Samsung phone, start at the first step shown below. If you have other phones you can most likely jump down to "Turn on the auto-open enabled notification permission".
SAMSUNG USERS START HERE
Turn on the auto-open enabled notification permission
If you see the notification shown below, the auto-open notification permission has been tuned on successfully and no action is needed. We will continue to work on updates to our app that abide by the new Android requirements while minimizing the mandatory notifications.

Hey Scott,
I'm not seeing this requirement in the android 14 developer notes. Can you point out out for me? (I'm also a little surprised that it wouldn't also require auto-close notifications.)
What I do see is a requirement for users to explicitly opt into PendingIntents for background apps. I would have thought that we do that when we flip the auto-open switch for a specific vehicle.
Thanks in advance for clarification on this requirement. I find having to swipe the notification of the screen to be somewhat annoying (albeit not annoying enough to deny myself the feature).
