    Hi William,

I don't know if I am at liberty to talk about this subject at the moment. It certainly would be great :)

    Hi Scott,

Are you able to talk about this subject now?  :-)  This would be a great addition.

Unforuntately not yet Kevin. I don't want to accidentally violate any terms of the NDA. Trust me when I say I want this done a lot more than anyone else on the planet does - so I'm pushing for it! Hard!

I currently have two Tailwind for each of our driveway gates, but use myQ for my garage doors.

however, as soon as Key by Amazon is enabled, I'll purchase another Tailwind for the garage doors and ditch myQ

I wonder if a single TVS will be able to open both the gate and my garage door... I love the TVS auto-open for the gate

Noted Avi. We are working on a major app update that will allow Tailwind to open multiple doors / gates on approach. Right now it supports 1.

The good news for me is that I have tailwind and myQ so I can have the best of both worlds as there is definitely features missing on both sides. Tailwind has my backing for the long run though so hope this continues to come along? Any updates or ways we can let Amazon know we want this feature?

Hi Kwyn. None that I know of. I don't think it would "move the needle" for Amazon anyways.

Hello, following this thread as a shopper for a smart tool for my garage.  Curious if Amazon Key functionality has been added yet?  Thanks!

    Hi  Chris,

Unfortunately not. I just can't get Amazon to work with us. They don't have any interest in rolling out in garage delivery with any other companies. Somehow Chamberlain locked that deal up. Just doesn't seem fair that such a sought after feature is not being released to any other manufacturers.

Thanks for the info, I too have been waiting to hear about any progress. Sucks that Amazon is not being fair.

Especially unusual since it's meant to prevent theft, and therefore save Amazon and the companies they serve the hassle/costs of dealing with stolen packages.

I could not agree more. I’ve been chasing them for years on this and have been passed around to many people. At the end of the day their position seems to be that they have enough access to garage doors through Chamberlain so there is no need to do any further work / put more resources into expanding in-garage delivery any further.

Unfortunate.  Good for you guys, though, you have some other features that are more important to me.  Glad to be part of the Tailwind fam :-)

Thank you for the kind words Chris. We are lucky to have you in the fam!

Rest assured the moment Amazon will allow it, Tailwind will work with Key.

I don't know why they have to make it so difficult. I am sure that you can create an API that duplicates the existing Chamberlain API, which means that Amazon will not have to change a thing (other than communicate with your servers)

Yes agreed. Apparently they would need to do more work as it is supposedly not something they can copy and paste like an Alexa skill. I even told them "just give us the documents you gave Chamberlain so we can see what the API calls are and we will take it from there".

    Crickets :(

Who do we need to scream at? Amazon?

Yes please. I have tried and tried and tried for years. They just won’t open it up. Their position was that by working with Chamberlain they reached “enough” homes. They recently allowed Genie into the program. When they did that I immediately reached out again - excited to see they were opening it up.

Nope. They went from 1 to 2. Still not available for the rest of us.

If you ask me they gave Chamberlain a really unfair advantage and a monopoly on that market - AND Amazon subsidized it by offering a credit essentially equal to the purchase price - making MyQ almost free.

Thank you for letting me know it wasn’t a lack of anyone’s effort. Now I know who to write angry letters to :)

One day we will get there!
