What is the problem

Hi Raymond,
Our Certificate Authority issued new root certificates (this is a very big deal - like once every 20 years kind of deal). Our systems were not yet compatible with the new root certificate, and the old one was working just fine. But then the pushed the new one to our server even though the old one was still working, and this caused all connections to drop. It took time to sort everything out, put the old one back, update another certificate related matter, and then after we did, they went and pushed it to our server again even though we turned that setting off. It turns out we had to turn it off in multiple places.
So we finally have it configured so they cannot automatically mess with it now. The automation is set up so that things don't break when lower level certificates are changed. Some get updated every 90 days, but the root - that stays constant.
Anyways - that's been sorted out. Now we just have to finish fixing the Alexa, IFTTT, Smart Things integrations and a few other things. Hopefully all good by morning.
