Sensor update

    Michael,

There are a few potential causes.

    1) Your phone needs an internet connection to do the update, so please make sure it has one.

    2) You must make sure you turn your sensor off (1 solid flash), then back on (it flickers), and then start the update process within 30 seconds after that.

    3) On some iPhones we've noticed that users need to turn their bluetooth off in their settings, and then back on for some reason.

    4) The update process is not compatible with some Samsung phones running Android 10.

I get the same error. Pixel 4 with internet connection. Reset device multiple times.

    Mike,

Thanks for posting on this. It does seem like a bug was introduced recently somehow. We are working on it right now and will have it fixed shortly.

Please note the sensor firmware update does not work with Samsung phones. I know you're using a Pixel phone Mike, but just wanted to mention that for others that may read this post.

Also of note - the vehicle sensor firmware doesn't really need updating for Android phones. The update was mainly for iPhones due to a substantial change Apple made in iOS 13. Android phones should work fine with the original vehicle sensor firmware, so updating it is not crucial at this time. For iPhone users it is an absolute must.
