Creating an Alexa/Google announcement
Pretty sure that this may be out of Tailwind's realm, but a voice notification on Alexa (and Google) devices would be useful. Especially when the announcement includes the 'person' opening/closing the Garage door

Daniel,
Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately neither Google nor Alexa support those features at this time according to the information supplied to us by both companies. We wanted to implement this, but were told by both of them it is not possible yet.
That said, if you have the Tailwind app on your phone, you can have an audible notification that says "your garage door just opened / closed". If your phone is in vibrate mode of course it won't play the audible notification though.

Yes. Posted a video of how to set it up for Alexa in early 2020.

I just installed the Tailwind device and everything is working great, but I'd like my Google Home assistant to announce when the garage door opens/closes. I see here that two years ago it was unavailable, but I'm checking to see if anything has changed and maybe now it is?? Thanks!

Yes Google added this functionality. Just set up an automation. The trigger or "starter" will be a door opening / closing and the "action" will be an announcement. I recommend choosing to play it on "custom device" and then select what device(s) you want the announcements to play on.
