Siri from Lock Screen
Siri is not working for me from lock screen. Siri hears me, but notifies that I must unlock the phone. Please note that:
Settings//Siri/Accessibility Menu
1. ‘Type to Sirii’is off
2. Always Listen for “Hey Siri” is on
Settings/Siri
1. Listen for “Hey Siri” is on
2. Press side button for Siri is off
3. Allow Siri When Locked is on
- Shortcuts for door open/close - created and on my Home Screen.
- Garage door added to HomeKit/Home App
Appreciate your help with this. Note that I have not found a post that addresses this directly, other than a conversation from some years ago where Scott notes that any Tailwind restriction on this behavior was removed.
Note: Terrific product. My wife and I each removed our OEM openers from our cars thanks to the Tailwind controller, and we see that as an important security feature (and, note that carrying the openers as keychain fobs occasionally resulted in inadvertent door opens from a button being poked while in our pockets). Kudos to the Tailwind team!!

This is imposed by Apple. Any commands that come with potential liability (like opening an entrance to your home or garage) require unlocking of the phone. This is across the board and is not limited to Tailwind. We, nor any other device manufacturers, have any say in the matter.
It was Apple's response to this type of event https://news.sophos.com/en-us/2016/09/22/siri-opens-smart-lock-to-let-neighbor-walk-into-a-locked-house/
Google Home and Alexa have similar requirements but theirs are in the form of having to say a PIN code.
