In-house door status display
We use Tailwind on a detached garage near the house, and we used to be able to look out the kitchen window and see the two garage doors and whether they were up or down. However, a small tree between the two buildings grew into a big tree and now it's only during winter (when there are no leaves) that we can see the two doors. Yes, we can check the app for door status, but we like to just grab the extra garage remotes that we keep in a kitchen drawer to open or close the doors before we head out or go to bed (and, yes, we are using night mode but often want to be sure the door is closed before night mode kicks in). Unless someone has already worked on such a project, I am planning to use the Tailwind API to create a small "door status display" that runs on an ESP32 controller with integrated screen, probably e-paper or LCD, to show garage door status at a glance without having to use our phones. Anyone else interested in such a display? Anyone have a better idea for how to do it?

I used the door open/closed indicator to turn a plug in wifi outlet on and off. Then set a 4" octagon box it a keyless lamp holder with a short piece of cord.So when you get the notification that door is open that is the signal I use I also made a automation to turn on the hall lite after sunset and keep it on for 15 minutes.
