I used to get an audio alert on my device that my door was either opening or closing but it hasn’t done that in a while. I can’t seem to fix it in Settings.

    Hi Terry,

Did you try restarting your phone as well as logging out and then back into the app?

I deleted the app and reinstalled from the App Store. It didn’t seem to help. I have meant to contact you months ago as it hasn’t given me audio messages like it did when I first installed it.

Are you on Android or iOS? What model of phone do you have?

So you are receiving notifications when the door opens / closes, but there is no verbal announcement?

If that's true, it must be a setting somewhere on your phone / iPad because I can see you have verbal notifications turned on. There are a couple things to note with the verbal notifications. Apple has all the control over where / how they are played. For example, if you have an Apple Watch, depending on the settings, it can silence the verbal notifications any time the watch is connected. Similar thing with vehicle bluetooth. Apple will send the sound to the vehicle speakers, but you won't hear it unless you have the source of your vehicle set to your iPhone and the volume turned up (as if you were streaming music).

There is also an "audio" permission in iOS settings for each app that needs to be turned on.

I am having similar issues with the verbal notification, been off for at least two months, yet only now realized it...

also iPhone (XR) iOS 15.2 (updating to 15.2.1 now)

    no apple watch

no Bluetooth in my car (other than an earpiece which is rarely used)

checked all the permissions/settings for tailwind and tailwind notifications, they were all "on"

If you have verified that the volume is turned up on your iOS device and that all the notification permissions are set correctly in both iOS and in the Tailwind app, the only recommendations I can think of are below. We have not been able to reproduce the issue in our testing. It works every time when we test for this.

    1) Restart the phone

    2) Log out of the app and log back in

    3) Delete the app and re-install it

Restarting the phone did not work

    Logging out/in did not work

Deleting the app and re-installing (giving it all the request permissions, just as it had before) it DID WORK!

getting "your garage door just opened" verbal announcement

getting "your garage door just closed" verbal announcement

now, all that's missing is the update where it says "gate" instead of "garage door" based on the chosen image...

    Thank you.
