Hi Arthur. Are you using Android or iPhone? We have widgets for both.

Hello, isn't this issue with the widget fixed yet ? I posted this problem 2 yrs ago and I now have had 3 android phones from pixel 3, pixel 4, now pixel 7 and it's still the same widget issue. The widget doesn't give a real status update, still need to press refresh to have current door status.

I can corroborate this widget problem.
I have had this problem for a year as well - I just got used to not trusting it until I refresh.
    I have a Samsung Galaxy S22.
Otherwise a big fan of the product.

This issue is still happening on my Pixel 3, and since my initial post, I'm now on Pixel 4 but also same issue. I tried on my OnePlus 3T android that I still have around but does not seem to be a problem with the widget. Can someone look into this? thanks

    Hi Arthur,

I looked into this and the team tells me it was fixed a long time ago. I'm surprised to hear you're still having this issue. I tested it on a Samsung phone and a Google Pixel 6 and it works on both of them. There is a bit of a delay when the widget is first shown because it goes and checks the status in real-time, so it might be a few seconds before it updates, but it does update.

If yours is not updating after waiting a few seconds please let me know because that's definitely not right.

Hi, thanks for responding. No, it was never fixed in my situation, I had the app/widget using the 3 phones previously mentioned pixel 3, 4, & 7. The widget which I have on my phone home screen, so I can see the real time status of my garage door but after a few hours it will show the garage door as open when it is actually closed, I have to click refresh button on the widget to get the right status. Then the image will show the door as closed, then after a couple of hours the image will become open again but the door is again actually closed and was never opened the whole time.,

The trouble with clicking the refresh every couple of hours to get the right status, (and this does happen rarely but it has maybe twice in the past 2 years, and most recently last week) that I will inadvertently click the open door image because it's a little bit close to the refresh button then it actually opens the closed garage door then giving me the false impression that "it's just the widget with wrong open garage door status but it's actually closed." When I refresh manually again after a few hours if it didn't change status, i.e. the image is still open, I will use the actual tailwind app instead to verify the real status which gives a better & reliable real time status.

Recently I just removed the widget as I can't be sure of it anymore and enabled notification (I disabled notifications before cause it sometimes disrupts me when I'm in a meeting).

Sorry for the long explanation, hope it makes sense. Let me know if you need more clarity or screenshots/video.Thanks

The team tells me this has finally been fixed. There was a core library used in the Android app that was causing this and it was a large undertaking to replace that library. It has not been released yet, but will be included in the next Android app release.

    Hi Arthur,

We are about to release an updated Android app. Please let me know if the issue still exists for you in the updated version. It should go live tomorrow I think.
