    Hi Joseph,

On iPhones your car's bluetooth will not show up, so you'll only have the option of choosing the vehicle sensor. This is a restriction by Apple. If you used Android, both the vehicle bluetooth and the vehicle sensor would show up, so you could choose either of them - entirely your decision.

Each user sets up the vehicle sensors (or vehicle bluetooth in the case of Android) however they want it to work for them. You could set up your car and your girlfriend's car on your account, and she could do the same on her account, and you could each set different preferences for how the system behaves. For example, I like the door to open sooner than my wife does, so when I come home in her car the door opens sooner than when she does. If we are together it's a simple "race condition" because both of our phones are detecting the same sensor at the same time. Since my phone is set up to open the door sooner than hers as we arrive, my phone opens the door. Hers also opens the door, but that command is ignored because the door is already opening.

You can just splice the Tailiwnd control wires into the red and white terminals (the 2 on the left). The Tailwind wires are not polarity sensitive but some wall controls are, so make sure any existing wires you remove go back where they were.

Amazon has made Alexa smarter. You typically don't have to say lock / unlock anymore. It seems Alexa responds to open / close now (finally). Yes Tailwind works with Alexa routines, but I think Amazon doesn't allow a routine to open - just close.

The app is not tied to our support site in any way - you set those credentials up independently.

Thank you Scott.  I sent you an email on this, but thought I would ask here, will I be able to say "Alexa, open garage door"?

    I am confused by this:

You typically don't have to say lock / unlock anymore. It seems Alexa responds to open / close now (finally). Yes Tailwind works with Alexa routines, but I think Amazon doesn't allow a routine to open - just close.

I think I know what you are saying though.  There is native integration where I can just say "Alexa, open garage door", but I can't create a routine for it.  Correct?
