I just ordered the iQ3 for iPhone with an extra sensor. We have a two car garage with one door. I have watched the 40+ minute install video and I am good with the actual install of the hardware. I am confused with the how to setup the iPhone needed sensor. When I go to the vehicle section of the app to add a Vehicle or Sensor, am I selecting the bluetooth entry for my car or the Tailwind sensor? I assume the two factor authentication is my phone and the sensor? I assume for Android users the two factors are the car's bluetooth entry and the Android phone and somehow this isn't allowed for iPhone?
Somewhat related, I purchased an extra sensor for my girlfriend's car. I am planning on sharing the app with her. I want Auto Open/Close to work with her car and her phone. Is this do-able or is the security restricted to just my phone as one of the factors? I hope not! If not, I assume I will add vehicle/sensor on her app/account on her phone and do the walk away thing with her phone/app?
In terms of the wiring pins. I have a Liftmaster Purple button and it looks like I will use the first two pin holes. I currently have two remote wired pads (one in the garage one in the kitchen). The prior owner was not neat and tidy and I am going to use this opportunity to clean things up. He has many splices and does not have each remote pinned directly into the opener. I assume I can just splice your wiring into the other remote wiring that leads to the hard wired remotes instead of pinning to the opener? Lastly, the order does not matter right? Meaning pin hole one or pin hole two for each wire?
Do I really have to say "Lock Garage Door" to close it with Alexa? Can I create a routine or scene or something to "Close Garage Door"
Finally, I downloaded the app just to look around and it does not like the username and pw I set up here to post this. Different credentials?
Thanks, will use this thread for more questions, I am sure I will have more. I tend to do all my research while waiting for a new product like this.
