Does the vehicle sensor work if I have no data connection on my phone?
I have extremely spotty cell coverage at home which means my garage door only activates around half the time since my phone struggles to send out the open signal, usually delaying until it can connect to my home's wi-fi. Does the vehicle sensor work on pure proximity to the door or does it still rely on my phone's ability to connect to the internet to do its thing?

Hi Nick,
It relies on your your phone's ability to connect to the internet. The vehicle sensor is a proximity device that talks to your mobile phone. When your phone detects the sensor is nearby it checks to see where you are and if you're driving to or from home. If you are, the phone app knows it is authorized to send the close / open commands and also knows which door to open / close (if you have more than one door / sensor combination). The sensor does not communicate directly with your garage door opener. It only communicates with the mobile phone.
