Homekit integration Update?

I see there have been posts about adding HomeKit integration to Tailwind. What's the status of that? Also, will there be any CarPlay integration with that?

We've been very happy with your product. Been installed and working for about a year. Mostly without incident. Other than the times when your service has been down, which is inconvenient.

  Hi John,

  Homekit is slowed down at this moment while we remain focused on the issues that caused some down time. Once we have those dealt with I'll put those developers back on HomeKit. We don't have a large team here, so I have everyone focused on the one goal at the moment.

  CarPlay is entirely up to Apple. The one thing I have heard is that once there is a HomeKit integration there will be a tile in CarPlay but we have no say or control over what it id does or how that works.

  Thanks for the update. I have been watching and waiting for a couple of years now and am a believer in your commitment to this iOS feature as challenging as it appears to be. I can only imagine that it would increase your visibility and market by some large magnitude??

  I have purchased a couple of units now for my family and am getting pretty good at efficient installations, hah. Curious on if you have developed any partners in this regards to promote your products in a turn key solution for people who are not able or willing to install the hardware.

  If there is a need for beta testers for HomeKit especially for automation or anything to help please consider me as a volunteer.

  I've been thinking about establishing relationships with professional integrators yes. Often we have customers that just want a turnkey installation.

  We are going to be beta testing HomeKit very shortly.

  I'm super jazzed about 'real' iOS support via HomeKit.  I've had my unit for a couple weeks and looking forward to better integration, status updates ('Hey Siri, is the garage door closed?', scenes, etc.  If you need an additional beta testers, let me know!  I'm not a professional integrator, just a tech nerd :-)

  I’ve just updated my phone to ios15. How do I add Tailwind to HomeKit? Is there an update for my tailwind unit? I’m unable to scan in the HomeKit app to add this accessory. Does it only run on a beta version?

  Hi Mark,

  The HomeKit firmware is currently in beta. If you email support@gotailwind.com we can upgrade your firmware to the beta and then you'll be able to add it in the Apple Home app. We are pushing hard to finalize the certification as soon as possible so it will be available for everyone.
