Yes this is no problem. You would set up your vehicle and hers on your phone / account, and she would do the same on her phone / account.

I've done this with my wife's and my phones, and I'm now experiencing intermittent behaviour with my phone. Here's what we did:

    1. I installed the Tailwind app on my phone, created an account, and added the vehicle sensor to the "Vehicle List" associated with our garage door.

    2. Installed the Tailwind app on my wife's phone. She created her own account, and then I "invited" her to my profile. She accepted the invitation, and I granted her access to the garage door.

    3. I added the vehicle sensor to the garage (that I shared with her) through the Tailwind app on her phone.

Now it works fine for her, but when I approach the home by myself, the door either doesn't open until I'm sitting right in front of it (at which point I suspect it's actually picking up my wife's phone inside the house and not my own), or doesn't open at all.

I haven't tried re-pairing the sensor with my phone yet, because I fear doing so would just shift the problem from my phone over to her phone. I'd like to be confident that the solution I attempt will solve the problem for both of us before I risk messing things up further.

Have I done anything wrong? Would it be easier for me to just buy a second vehicle sensor for the car and pair it with my phone, alone?

    Hi Kevin,

Sorry I just saw this post. I suggest going through our troubleshooting guide and also using the diagnostic tool built into the app (also mentioned in our troubleshooting guide).

    https://gotailwind.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360020647092-My-Tailwind-auto-open-auto-close-is-not-working

Please note we are working through a service disruption at the moment so you won't be able to address this right away. We will keep everyone updated through posts in our community, the banner at the top of our community page, and through a push notification in the app.

Thanks, Scott, I’ll do that. The curious thing is, it actually seems to be working; It’s just that the door does not open until much later than it should. I have it set to open when I get within 250 feet, but sometimes it doesn’t open until I get right up in front of the door. But it does still open, every time.

I’ll give the troubleshooting steps a try.
