    Hi Paul,

Sorry you're having trouble. I can see that your controller isn't connecting to the control server so I suspect the light is a yellowish / pale green colour instead of pure green. Did you just install this or have you had it for a while?

You are correct, it is a yellowish / pale green color. Have had it for several months and it worked fine until a few days ago.

Ok. Please power cycle the Tailwind controller if you haven't tried that yet. Also, please power cycle your modem if it is separate from your WiFi router. I can see it connected recently but then dropped again, so it's best to make sure you power cycle everything (modem, router, and Tailwind) to make sure everything has been cycled.

Powered cycled everything as instructed. Still offline. Reset the device. Still offline.

Thanks for your email Scott.  Just now checked my router and it was blocking the Tailwind.  Unblocked it and everything is now working.  Thanks for your help!

Hi Paul. Your Tailwind controller is back online. We didn't change anything. Not sure if you did something in your network, but it's working again.

Glad you found it Paul. Did it give any indications WHY it was blocking Tailwind Paul? Can I ask what kind of router / firewall / security software you have? I would like our team to do some research to find out why it would do that.

    I’m having similar problems:

I open the app and status is yellow, with an “update firmware” notification. I tap the notification, get “Your device will start update soon”, but nothing happens. If I try to get status, get “Seems garage door opener is offline”. Greenish-yellow light on Tailwind device. Have rebooted WiFi extender, no change. Have power cycled Tailwind, no change. Have not yet rebooted main router because it’s disruptive to the rest of my household but will try later. Out of ideas...

The yellow status light indicates that the controller is able to connect to the extender but something is blocking it from reaching our server, which is usually firewall related. We are noticing that some routers / modems are blocking the controller from reconnecting after the outage and a power cycle of the network seems to fix it. We are not sure why certain routers / modems would block it. The current theory is that the repeated attempts of the controller trying to reach the server, and rebooting itself every few minutes to clear any internal issues may have cause certain routers to deny them internet access. In most cases so far, cycling the router / modem has fixed it when this happens.

Once you get back online, please update your firmware. We are making substantial changes and your firmware needs to be current. Our server is polling all devices and any that are connected and not updated will get a forced update, but it's better if you update it from your side.
