Verbal notification says door close when door is opening.

We are aware of this issue and we are working on it. We have not yet been able to reproduce the problem but we are working on it because we've had a number of customers report this problem since the last Android app update.
If anyone would be available for a real-time debugging session please let me know. We need to monitor traffic at the same time someone experiencing the issue opens / closes their door. We've been testing multiple devices for the last few days and we cannot reproduce the problem. It keeps working as expected every time.

I have figured out that when a Tailwind update is delivered, I routinely have to uninstall and reinstall the app and widget. If I don't, the verbal notifications or some other feature just don't work correctly. I too had the problem with the open/close messages being inconsistently backward after the last update. The history was always correct. Just the voice notification was wrong. Uninstalling and reinstalling fixed the problem. Something with the voice notifications seems to always get broken with updates and starting over is a lot faster than spending a lot of effort trying to troubleshoot the settings and getting nowhere. There is something with the update process that Tailwind is not able to do cleanly.

Hi Michael,
We are unfortunately experiencing an extended service outage. We have sent notifications out through the app about it, and have a banner showing system status at the top of our support page.
I've been posting what's been happening in the thread below for the tech minded people that want the details. We are working constantly to fix this and cannot apologize enough.
We will return our attention the notification issue in the updated Android app once we get things back online.

We have a couple confirmations of this working now. I have reported this to our Android team for follow up. We have not been able to reproduce this problem and have only had a handful of reports about it so I don't think it is too widespread.
If this happens to you, please uninstall / reinstall the app and hopefully you'll be good to go again. Trying a clear cache & memory might also work - not sure about that.

I routinely have this issue on Android. It generally happens after any Android operating system update. The Tailwind voice notifications go wonky. It is not always consistent... sometimes I get the verbal door closed notification, but not the open notifications. At other times, it is the other way around. And occasionally, voice notifications quit altogether (although the badge/visual notifications always work and work consistently).
In every case, simply logging out of the application, going to settings and clearing both data and cache for the Tailwind app and logging back into Tailwind fixes the problem every time. I have never had to result to uninstalling/reinstalling the app... although I'm guessing that uninstalling serves the same purpose of clearing the data and cache.
I don't think I've ever seen the problem with a Tailwind app update. It's always the Android system updates. I now just make it part of my update process... when an Android update is applied, I just clear the data and cache from the Tailwind app and login again. No big deal. While ideally this wouldn't occur, this minor inconvenience doesn't impact the functionality (or security) and is well worth the minimal effort for all the other features that Tailwind offers. My two pennies worth!

Never have any issues with Android updates. The app updates always seem to break the notifications from Tailwind. The only fix for me is uninstall and reinstall. Clearing cache and data never fixes it. Even with restarts. I don't seem to have issues with any other app. When everything is running at Tailwind, it works great.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I am going to have some other sets of eyeballs on the Android code to see if we can iron this out. It has our team baffled because the notification payloads always seem to be correct even when this happens. Our app bug logs even tell us it played the correct verbal notification when it doesn't.
We have been trying to reproduce this issue for more than a month internally but haven't been able to. Very, very frustrating!!!

The simplest solution at this time is to uninstall / reinstall the Tailwind app. Then log back in and grant all requested permissions. Your settings will return once you log back in. The only things you would need to do in addition is to get rid of the "Tailwind is running" annoying message from the Android Operating System (instructions at link below), and turn on "allow background data usage while data saver on" under the same app settings menu in your phone (see link below), but it's located in a slightly different place under "mobile data".
Sorry for the trouble!
