Vehicle Sensor Connects to Phone Outside Car

I have a 2 door iQ3, 2 vehicle sensors and 3 vehicles. One vehicle, a Tesla, has Homelink and therefore does not use the Tailwind device as it has it's own auto-open/close functionality. My third car is parked outside in the driveway and it is this car that I recently added the 2nd vehicle sensor to which is when I noticed the following issue. The other day I arrived home in my Tesla and it's Homelink opened the garage door as usual. However, as I pulled in past my car parked in the driveway my phone connected to that parked car's vehicle sensor and opened the other garage door. Is there any way to filter the signal from the vehicle sensor based on it's RSSI so it doesn't connect so aggressively? I do development work with BLE devices and have a scanner app on my phone that has that ability.
