Will Tailwind work with Liftmaster MyQ garage door opener
I have a Liftmaster MyQ garage door opener and apparently it is not compatabile with my recently purchased Alexa Echo Auto. Will Tailwind work with the MyQ "smart" garage door opener?

Yes, but you will need to purchase an adapter from Tailwind Support. You can make your own, but the adapter is free, although shipping from Canada is $10. I just installed my Tailwind yesterday on our LiftMaster MyQ and it works great. When you request the adapter from Tailwind, you will need to tell them your door brand and model and how many garage doors you have. Unless you request the adapter with your original purchase, you’ll also have to email them a photo of your Tailwind system purchase to confirm that you’ve already bought the item.
The adapter looks like a remote car door opener, but with wires protruding. Instead of the bare wires from your Tailwind connecting to the garage door opener, these will connect to the remote using the included plastic wire caps. Then you press the yellow “learn” button on your garage door open and press and hold a specified button on your remote until the garage door opener clicks (mine blinks the light as well), indicating is has “learned’ the signal from the adapter. And no, this should not interfere with your regular garage door remotes, at least it didn’t with mine.
Scott at Tailwind is great to work with. Good luck! Jim
