Garage Door Safety Sensors were pre-wired with CAT 5 cable

I had the good fortune on finding that the (mostly) in-wall wiring for my garage door safety sensors was done with solid CAT 5 plenum cable. That allowed me to use one of the three remaining pairs in the cable for the Tailwind Door Switch connection without having to run a separate switch wire along the door rail and ceiling to the Control Module.

So, take a look to see if your light-beam safety sensors happen to be wired with a multi-pair cable. For me, it enabled a neater & faster installation.
