Would you mind sharing the answer to this question as I've been experiencing the same issue lately.
I thought initially it was due to my placement of a new AP in the garage to extend coverage and the SSID change that I created to keep it connected to the garage AP; but now I'm wondering if it's due to a different cause.
Thanks,
C

We've been receiving some "offline" reports since our last Android app update to version 8.27, but so far we have not been able to reproduce any offline issues in our testing using all kinds of Android phones. Are you saying that the app shows the Tailwind controller offline briefly when you open the app? Or is it showing offline for longer than 1 or 2 seconds? It is normal for it to show offline when you first open the app because that is the default view. However it should quickly get replaced with showing it online once the app has a chance to ping the device and receive a status confirmation.
If you guys are using the Android app and it is showing offline for longer than 1 or 2 seconds please let me know. If that is the case it would also be helpful if you could use your Tailwind app to send us an error report while its acting up (or shortly thereafter) so we can get some insight as to what's going on. You can send error reports from the main menu in the app.

Hi Scott,
Yes, the app is timing out and showing offline; sometimes it will refresh soon after and go back online. Other times it won't show online no matter how many times I close and open the app (including the device details page). The odd part is that the widget will refresh and show the current door status and the AP shows connected with a signal of -55 dBm.Oh, and the auto open continues to work, but it seems to be a delay as sometimes I will be in the driveway before it gets the command to open (usually on the street 50' away or so).
I agree that this likely started with version 8.27, although it coincidentally is when I moved the AP to the garage and added a new AC version in the house (Unifi). I also added a new 2.4Ghz SSID specifically for the tailwind so that it wouldn't roam to the other AP. This of course required the initial setup to be repeated with the reset button.
I'll reboot the AP and things get a little weirder; the status will quickly go to green, I'll tap the garage control and the door will display with the current status, then a text appears that the door seems to be offline... then it keeps refreshing and going back offline repeatedly.
As requested, I will send the error reports from the main menu in hopes that will help.
Thanks again for your prompt attention.

Hi Everyone,
Just to add to this thread - our last Android app update apparently has a connectivity bug in it that did not show up during our development and beta testing cycles. We are working hard to resolve this situation as quickly as possible. Just in the last hour we have finally been able to reproduce the issue on one of our test phones. We will focus on getting this fixed for you as soon as possible. Please watch for an updated Android app on the Google Playstore.
For those of you who are in our Android beta testing program, we really appreciate your constructive feedback and error reports in helping us fix this, and our humblest of apologies for causing this issue in the first place.

Hi Everyone,
Ok I think we have it resolved in the latest beta version that we pushed up to the Google Playstore this morning. I did find a bug in it related to something else, but the connectivity has been rock solid in our testing. If you guys could please let me know if you're experiencing any further connectivity issues with the latest beta release ti would be most appreciated. The latest version is V8.32(140).
Thank you so much for your patience and feedback. We are still wiping the egg off our faces over this one, but hopefully it will be over by tomorrow or Monday and the update will go live for everyone.

FYI, if anyone is using a Unifi UAP, I recommend using the latest BETA version of the AP firmware (UAP 4.0.40). The current stable version (4.0.15) caused packet loss after 18-24 hours on my device. The Tailwind app has been rock solid since its latest release and seems as fast as ever. I applaud their efforts and diligence to resolve these issues.
