Camera integration?

    Ed,

We looked at it, but with such great solutions like Wyze Cam out there for just $20 it's hard for us to bring any real additional value to the table in that space. Of course I could be wrong - I'm often wrong!

We exist to serve our customers, so if enough of our customers want it, we will do it!

I would look into the IFTTT app it allows app combinations. I have built many IFTTT app using Wyze triggers like motion detection turns on lights in garage. I still have not purchased tailwind yet so I cannot say for sure will work but worth looking into. I did see that tailwinds is IFTTT compatible.

Thanks for the replies... this is the scenario I have... I already have an ip camera (foscam) in my garage.  The camera is a local IP based camera sending data to my own blue iris server.  I would love to see an option in the tailwind software to plug in a local IP and port number for camera and have a small screen with the camera show up in the app.  I know this is a feature with some other IP based openers.  Hopefully that clarifies my question.  I had never heard of the Wyze Cam before but upon researching that camera I have noticed a lot of privacy concerns with it.  Not that I care too much about privacy in my garage but having that video incorporated into the Tailwind app itself would be great.  That would have a one place stop for viewing the camera as well as visual confirmation of opening or closing of the garage door.

    Thanks!!

Development is continuing Roger. It's a pretty big undertaking so it will take a while. It would be fairly simple to just support non ONVIF compatible camera and show it in the app, but that's of little value to most customers. We need to support cloud storage, remote viewing, firmware updates, user management, security, etc.

Thanks for the update Scott.  Really excited for this feature to be able to integrate my own IP camera.  If you are in need of a beta tester please let me know.

Do you just need ONVIF support? I would think you would want some sort of RTSP and remote viewing right?

Hardware is done and ready for production. Streaming is working. Working out some bugs and adding the cloud storage piece.

Thx Scott, will we be able to integrate our own IP cameras?  Looking forward to this feature.

I think we will go there, but first we plan to launch our own camera integration. Something has to pay for all this software development we are doing :)
