    "No response" errors can often be resolved by restarting all your Apple products - so whatever you use for your hub (typically an Apple TV or a HomePod), as well as your iPhone or whatever you are using for controlling devices in Apple Home. Restarting the router also helps as many routers have built-in HomeKit features that also benefit from a restart. In most of the cases I've heard about, customers do not need to restart the Tailwind controller to get things working with HomeKit unless they have pressed and held down the reset button on it. Doing that will initiate a HomeKit reset - which will obviously kill its ability to communicate with your Apple Home until you remove it from Apple Home and add it back again.

    The HomeKit reset procedure is mentioned at the bottom of the HomeKit welcome email our system sends automatically when you add a device to your Tailwind account. That same email also includes a copy of the HomeKit QR code.

    Update: I signed out of iCloud, rebooted Homekit (starting from scratch), reset the TW unit to flashing green, and was able to load the 2 doors, rename them (as I did the first time), and open & close them successfully.  Less than 5 minutes later, they went back to the "No Response" status.  I do not have a Homepod since my Apple TV's perform that function.  Sure looks like a Homekit issue but I am tired of trying to get this established--I don't know what changed.

    I'm having the same issue with all my smart devices except my Sensi t-stat. So I'm thinking its a Apple problem I use a Apple TV as well. If you find something please let me know and I will do the same.

    When I add the 2 doors to a "new" Home, they connect and I can open & close them.  The moment I add one of my Appl TV's as a hub, they disconnect and the tile reads "No Response".  All software is current & I have restarted the Apple TV to no effect.  It won't surprise me that this is an Apple issue but why now after Siri worked for a time?  The modem (AT&T), router (eero 6) & TW have been reset/restarted but nothing I do seems to work.

    FWIW: this is what I emailed to Support: Hi Scott--sorry to be so high maintenance but as soon as I bragged about how cool TW is, I started having issues with the connectivity to Apple Homekit. Both of the doors appeared as "No Response" after a time. I don't know exactly when or why it happened. One of the three Apple TV's are used as the Hub in lieu of a HomePod. I went through every action I could research--reset modem, reset router, make sure ATV's were current & restarted (not reset to factory specs) and reset TW to flashing green. The only way I could connect the garage doors to Homekit was to start a new Home after deleting the one with "No Response" but the moment I added one of the ATV's as a Hub, the doors would go into "No Response" mode. The TW app is fine and works without any issues. 3 screenshots are attached showing the various connections.   This is an ATV issue right?   Thank you for your help.

    New Tailwind user here.  I'm having the same problem.  Installed iQ3 Pro today.  Took an hour; easy-peasy.

    Now, the problem is getting it to work in Home app.  I'm a Computer & IT guy for my company and I've got a "Smart Home" so adding or removing devices from Apple Home, Alexa, Google is nothing new or challenging for me.

    Using Tailwind app to operate the garage door works fine but I bought this thing so I could get back what MyQ took away and use it in HomeKit.

    After successfully adding the first time, the "Garage Door" showed "No Response" and "This Accessory is Not Responding".  I removed the accessory from Home and added again.  Same result.

    I removed the accessory one more time.  Third time's the charm, right?  Nope!  I couldn't get it to show up again when attempting to "Add Accessory".  Home app kept alerting me with:

    "Accessory Already in Another Home. You may need to reset the accessory before adding it to your home.  See manufacturer's guide for more information."

    I've done all the possible troubleshooting including rebooting my iPhone, my router, sign out of app, sign into the app, reset the iQ3 device, making sure I'm on the correct wifi network, etc.  I even erased the wifi settings on the device and started over.  Nothing has worked!  This is frustrating.  My joy from the very easy installation of the hardware dissipated quickly.

    The garage door works with the app flawlessly but again, I wanted this for HomeKit compatibility and that has not happened.  Something must be wrong on your "back end" cause the device thinks it's already installed in another home.

    Need help and a solution fast or I'm going to try the Meross Collie instead.  I purchased the Meross first but returned it and purchased the Tailwind after I read glowing reviews about it online.

    EDIT: Forgot to mention that even though attempts to make it work with HomeKit has failed. I was able to still set up Siri Shortcuts for now.

    I got the doors connected following Scott's advice but based on what I learned from the recent Sonos app disaster, the last thing I did made the difference.  I am using one of 3 Apple TV's as a homekit hub.   I unplugged the ethernet cable from the Apple TV's hub making it wireless. Restarted it, made sure it was connected to my wireless network and boom--all good. For whatever reason, the ATV and/or Homekit did not like communicating through my 24 port Araknis switch. I discovered yesterday via my AV tech that Sonos equipment, especially after the release of the new disastrous app, prefers to be wifi rather than wired. Go figure. Fingers crossed. It worked fine before but obviously something changed without me messing with it.  For the last 2 days, it has been working fine.  I think the key is having the ATV connected via wifi and resetting the TW module (reset until rapid green flashing to clear the Homekit connection.

    I have two Apple TVs available as Homekit hubs connected via ethernet to Netgear Pro switches. I also have two HomePod minis.  I disconnected and powered off both ATVs while doing my troubleshooting so that the HPminis would act as hubs. This didn't make a difference in my situation.  I'll try with the ATV on wifi for the heck of it. But I always like to have my ATVs wired anyway.

    Just FYI, I have several Sonos devices in my home.  I'm not sure what app disaster you're referring to but I assume the recent app changes?  I had no problems with the new app or any Sonos devices during the recent updates and refreshes.

    I figured out what is going on with mine 1/2 of my devices want to connect to my 5G network. This is rather strange since I have my 5G shut off. I shut it off to prevent this type of situation. I called my provider and was told that I can only have 5 smart devices since I have 35 devices its my issue. They also said with that many devices I would be unable to watch any streaming on line. This wasn't surprising as they sell home products that will only run on 5G. I'm going to try pulling the cat 6 out of my ATV and see what happens. One question did you plug your Ethernet cable back into your ATV?

    My experience was awful.  Nothing would connect and every single piece of Sonos had to be reset to factory specs more than once before it would connect.  It's still not right.  Now, back to Tailwind!

    Yes, back to Tailwind.  I installed mine Sunday morning and sent a support ticket via their website that afternoon after unsuccessful troubleshooting.  All I've received is a generic Zendesk acknowledgment.

    "Your request (22853) has been received and is being reviewed by our support staff. To add additional comments, reply to this email."

    I don't know how long I'm supposed to wait for some help.  I have no idea how big or small their support staff is and I can't find a support telephone number for them.  I'm not very patient waiting for support on stuff like this.  They should, at the very least, have a support number for installation help.  I consider this part of the installation because I purchased it for the very reason of being able to have HomeKit support again.

    That's why I posted here.  Their logo says "Community Matters To Us".   When you don't have phone support, you should have a very good community or online forum where you can get "official" responses quickly.  You answered before they did!

    I better stop now.  I see that I've turned this into a rant.  It's my years in the computer and IT business that have jaded me.  Sorry.  I was through the roof with excitement about this product but I'm also very critical when it comes to support of the product.

    Sorry for the late reply. Yesterday was a holiday in Canada. On top of that I wrote a detailed reply to you and when I hit "Post" it didn't post and vanished so I got to type everything again.

    Unfortunately Apple does not provide us with any troubleshooting tools for HomeKit, so it's a black box to both users and device makers alike. It does seem like HomeKit is less reliable lately. I'm not sure if it is related to recent iOS updates or something else, but lots of unhappy HomeKit users are posting in Apple community forums, and we have seen an uptick in HomeKit related support tickets as well.

    We can only suggest the usual suspects:

    Restart all your Apple products (iPhone, iPad, Apple TVs, HomePods, etc), especially whatever you are using to view the Apple Home app as well as whatever Apple product serves as your HomeKit Hub.

    Restart your WiFi router, and if you have a mesh or multiple access points, restart all of those as well - including any WiFi extenders.

    You can try restarting your Tailwind controller but we haven't heard of that helping with HomeKit issues.

    If you removed your Tailwind garage door(s) from Apple Home you'll need to do a HomeKit reset on your Tailwind controller before you can add it back again. Instructions for this are included in the HomeKit welcome email our system sends when a device is set up. If you don't have this email, here's how to do that:

    Press and hold the reset button until the status light flashes green rapidly. Then immediately release the button. Continuing to hold it down will result in deleting the WiFi credentials from the controller. You don't want or need to do that.

    Wait for the controller to run through the reset process. When it's done it will go back online and steady green. It is now ready to add in Apple Home again.

    If you don't have your HomeKit QR code for setup, you can find the manual HomeKit code in the "Device Settings" screen in the Tailwind app. From the "My Devices" screen tap the gear icon beside your device to find it.

    If anyone discovers anything helpful please post it so we can all benefit from it.

    Thanks for responding.  I know we are also working together on this separately via email and I appreciate it!

    A thought came to mind.  Are the others here who are experiencing the "No Response" issue in Apple Home also owners of garage door brands that required an adapter with installation?  Is there a possible correlation?

    I have a Liftmaster with a yellow learn button and needed the adaptor accessory.

    My situation started with the "No Response"  but now I can't even add the controller to HomeKit anymore.  Just throwing this out there cause my "Tech Guy" brain is spinning.

    Hi Marcus,

    The adaptor really wouldn't have anything to do with HomeKit showing "No Response". If the adaptor was causing problems it would prevent you from controlling the door from the Tailwind app as well - nothing through the Tailwind controller would work to control the door.

    So just to confirm - because I've never heard of this happening before:

    You have deleted all garage doors from your Apple Home app.
    You can control your opener from the Tailwind app
    You press and hold the reset button on the Tailwind controller until you see the green status light flash rapidly, and then release the reset button.
    You wait for a short time while it does the HomeKit reset and comes back online (solid green).

    Then you attempt to add it back in your Apple Home app using the HomeKit setup code or manually entering the code from the "Device Settings" screen and it gives you an error that the device is already in another home?

    Thanks for confirming about the adapter.

    To confirm:
    1. All garage doors have been deleted from Home app. We only have one.  Additionally, there have been no garage doors in Home app since Chamberlain cut off HomeKit support last year.
    2. I can control the opener from the Tailwind app. No problem.  Additionally, I am able to use Siri Shortcuts to open and close the garage door. A good workaround for now, but really miss having it show up in CarPlay when I'm near home.
    3. Yes.  I've reset the Tailwind controller per published instructions. Press and hold the reset button on controller until you see the green status light flash rapidly, and then release the reset button. I wait a short time while it does the HomeKit reset and comes back online (solid green).
    4. See screenshot.  I did this all again while answering your post just for the heck of it.

    EDIT: Not that it matters, when adding the accessory to Home, I've done it both ways. I scan the HomeKit code from the email, and also enter the numbers manually.

    Based on my experience with this, when I received this message on Homekit I had to delete the home where the TW was added.  I created a new home to confirm I could add the doors or maybe the default "My Home" was corrupted.  You have other items in your app so deleting them would not be great since you would have to add all those lights, etc back into the app.  Since I did not have a lot of items added to "My Home", starting over was no big deal.  What worked for me was using an Apple TV that was connected to my network via WiFi as the hub after restarting.  What I don't understand is how you can command the doors via Siri but they are not part of "My Home" or whatever you have named it.  Are you using an Apple TV as a hub?

    I have been searching for posts about this issue and found that it is definitely not limited to Tailwind. It appears to happen with a wide variety of HomeKit devices.

    One interesting post I found mentioned re-adding the device (after reset) but DO NOT use the HomeKit QR code but I see you tried that already. He mentioned that entering the code manually seemed to work, and this was repeatable (in his case). I saw another comment that this worked for another user as well. This was for HomeKit ceiling fans but the HomeKit error was the same as the one you are experiencing - that HomeKit thinks your Tailwind is already in another home when in fact it is not (assuming you checked all the rooms to make sure it's not hiding in one of them of course).

    The first link below is the one mentioning this solution, but you tried it already so it doesn't seem to be something that would work for you. The others are just a few others I found this morning but the only semi-useful thing I found in the rest of them was that people were having success by completely powering off every Apple device in their house - I mean fully plugging / powering off everything and LEAVING them off for at least 16 minutes - including the WiFi network. Then power on ONLY the network, ONLY the Apple device used for the hub, ONLY the Apple device you are using to launch the Apple Home app, and obviously the device you are trying to add to HomeKit (in this case your Tailwind).

    This is starting to become more trouble than it's worth.  Before I delve into the links you provided, I'm at work right now, I have one immediate question.

    Exactly what does a reset do to the controller?  Does it reset the device to factory settings? In my years of experience, there have been two HomeKit compatible devices that create a new HomeKit code when it is removed from the Home app or when a reset happens.  1) is my Ecobee3 thermostat, and 2) the Chamberlain MyQ bridge. Both devices always produce a new code on the device itself after a reset. I did this recently with my EcoBee3 after we installed a C-wire for direct power.  Those are the two devices I never wrote down the HK code because they could change.

    The Tailwind controller, when reset, always uses the same code.  It never changes.  Why?

    I believe I answered this in a previous post.  I have 3 current gen Apple TVs (ethernet), 3 HomePods, and 2 HomePod minis.  I disabled them all and started with the HomePods as HomeKit Hubs (one by one), then ATVs on wifi during troubleshooting.  It doesn't appear to be a HomeKit Hub issue whether wired or on wifi.

    I don't believe that my "Home" database is corrupted in any way.  Last night I installed my Vocolinc humidifier.  I had removed it last month when my alergies had settled down.  Added to my Home without any issues.  I also have an extra Hue Bridge lying around which I uninstalled from my niece's apartment before she moved out of state.  That was easily added to my Home without issue.

    When should I feel comfortable enough to say the problem is not with my Home or network or other devices.  Maybe it's the Tailwind controller that's defective?

    The last device that gave me a similar problem was an iDevices Switch.  It lost wifi connection one day and after resetting it, I could no longer add it back to Home.  It was still under warranty and I received a replacement.  That was 2017 and I still have it in my Laundry with my Vornado fan plugged into it.

    The Garage Door is definitely not hiding in my Home app.  Also, I've already mentioned that I've tried adding to Home manually using the numerical code instead of scanning the QR code.  That is already in my troubleshooting routine.

    I couldn't try this last night because we were watching the basketball game.  I work from home on Fridays so I'll attempt it then.  I've already done something similar to this.  The difference being I didn't leave Apple devices off for 16 minutes. The rest of the links are not applicable or I’ve already done similarly and not successful.

    I spoke with a colleague of mine who is a Sr. Apple Support Specialist. Instances like mine are common but a “hard reset” has always been the solution.  Especially for a device with an accompanying app.  A hard reset would normally return a device to factory settings and also remove it from its own app to be added again and then make it available to HomeKit.

    What is the procedure for a “hard reset” that would remove the controller from the Tailwind app and start the setup process again.  I’d like to try that first!

    I definitely DO NOT want to delete my Home in Home app for one device being finicky.

    Press and hold a device for more than 10 seconds can reset the device and remove all HomeKit related records. You will see the LED flashing quickly in BLUE. (This could help.)

    (If you want to remove it from your Tailwind account, you need to delete it in Tailwind App, although I don't think this could help.)

    Cautiously, GOOD NEWS, and one more thing...

    I work from home on Fridays so I was able to try this today.  Followed instructions to the "T".  I am finally successful in adding the garage door accessory!  I’m being cautiously excited right now because it’s been only been 10 minutes.  Accessory is showing in Home app.  It’s responding.  I think we have SUCCESS!  I will keep you posted until end of day here in San Francisco.  I am now going to power up the rest of my Apple devices (Apple TVs and HomePods).  Let's see what happens.

    But, one more thing…

    Now that it’s working in Home, I added Tailwind app to my Apple Watch and followed instructions to “Show PIN” on the Tailwind app.  I tap Show PIN and I’m asked for my “Current Password” which I can only assume is the password for my Tailwind account.  I enter my password (copied/pasted from my 1Password app password manager) and I’m presented with “Please enter current password.”  What the heck?  What am I doing wrong?  See screenshot.

    Thanks, all.  Garage door is in Home app.  All Apple devices are powered on and garage is still responding in Home app.  Apple Watch is working too.

    What a long week of troubleshooting.  Appreciate Scott Riesebosch for hanging in with me and helping me out.
