UPDATE Feb 29th 12:50PM
We have released V12.7 of the Android app. Most users should receive the update automatically - yours may already be updated. This release fixes the notification issues, auto-open issues, and crashes that were introduced in the previous release.
Please note that if you are using a Tailwind vehicle sensor with an Android phone for your auto-open, there are still some outstanding issues we will resolve as soon as possible. If you are using your vehicle Bluetooth for this feature you should be back to normal with this release.
You can see the Tailwind app version code by launching the app. Tap the top left corner to bring up the main menu. The version code is at the bottom of that menu. If it says c v.12.7(518) you have the fixed version. If yours has not updated yet you can go to the Playstore and search "Tailwind Garage". When you see our app it should say "Update". Tap on that and it should update you to the fixed version.
Please note that rollouts are controlled by Google. Although we have released the update it may not proliferate to all countries immediately and make take a few hours.
UPDATE Feb 28th 4:42PM
We submitted a build to Google for review. It passed review but there was a warning message about a possible problem for some users. We are checking into that warning further. It is not an error - it is just a warning. We may do one more update to address that warning message or we may release it as is. More testing is being done, but at this point it looks like a release will be available tomorrow at some point and most of you should receive it automatically.
UPDATE Feb 27th 11:45AM EST
Most of the issues have been resolved. We are planning on submitting an updated app to the Google Playstore tomorrow for review. Usually reviews take anywhere from 1 to 2 days before they can be published / released.
UPDATE: Feb 26th 12:06PM EST
We are testing an internal beta version now. Notifications are working in that beta. Working through the other bugs that were introduced and will update this thread again.
Unfortunately one of our Android developers released an Android app update without following our proper testing protocol. This update introduced a bug that is affecting notification delivery and causing a few other issues as well. Our team is working to correct it with another app update ASAP. Sorry for any inconvenience this may be causing.

Update. I left my home today. Came back and the garage didn't open. I just used The automatic open not closed FYI. then I did some tests by driving around the block with the app open and I got notifications and the garage door open this time. But I had to have the app Open. Where I usually had my phone in my pocket or plugged in android auto not with the app open. Just wanted to add that info. Hope it helps troubleshooting the problem.

I sent an email to support today for this same problem on my android before seeing this issue. Now it makes since why I get this message.
First I stopped getting notifications when the door would open and close. Tried doing the instructions to receive notifications. This worked for a day then quit again and I receive this message
Something went wrong with Tailwind.
Tailwind closed because this app has a bug.
Try updating this app after it’s developer.
Provides a fix for this error.
Thank you, Scott. I know you're on the problem.

Dave Sullivan, I would do that to get the auto-open feature back.

Scott Riesebosch, has the auto-open been fixed in the release you are submitting to Google?

I will update this thread when the updated app is released on the Playstore. Most of your phones should just update automatically. Notifications, auto-open, and the crashing issue should all be corrected when the update is released. Please note that Google releases apps at different times in different regions, so while our developer dashboard might say "available", people in various countries might not have it yet.
So if you see a post from me that it's available but you don't see it yet, just hang in there. It simply means the update has not proliferated to your region yet.

Looking forward for the update to the 20th feb one that has stopped my notifications (Pixel 6) as I rely heavily on these to know who is on my yard. I do get notifications but only if the phone is unlocked and Tailwind is open, not much use though. Apart from this temporary (I hope) problem, Tailwind is still the best and I recommend it to anyone.

Thank you all for your patience. This has been a rough patch for sure. An updated app has been released. Please see my official comment pinned to the top of this thread.
I'm sorry if any of you sent in an email to support@gotailwind.com and it was not answered in a timely fashion. There are simply too many at the moment despite everyone here working with very little sleep.
I read the riot act to the dev team over this one. This should never have happened. Our standard test procedures were not followed, and to be honest we did have to skip a number of tests to get this emergency release out to you but the core testing all passed - notifications, door control, auto-open with vehicle bluetooth.
My neighbours probably thought about calling the police on me while I kept driving lap after lap after lap in my neighbourhood testing it last night for bugs.
We will be monitoring metrics carefully and continue to work on the vehicle sensor related issues. But for the vast majority of you - things should be normal again.

Elissa, does your notification page look like this? https://photos.app.goo.gl/UhB96kekSp53dtAX7
Also, you aren't in DND or bedtime mode?

Reading through this post has given me hope that my issues will be addressed in the near future. As a Pixel 8 user with older cars I would really appreciate a resolution to the Android/TVS bug.
I have been a Tailwind user for several years and loved it. I have talked up the product to family, friends, and even my garage spring replacement guy. Unfortunately ever since I switched phones to a Pixel 8 a few months back, the wheels have fallen off the bus. The auto-open/close functionality that I could once rely on has become completely unusable, working less than 1/4 the time.
I know that it has been stated a fix is in the works but I just wanted the chance to say, as an affected user, I would love to regain the functionality of this product.

I have issues occasionally on my android when the location shuts down. I end up having to turn location off and on and go into airplane mode. It will then show back up and it all works. This has happened on my S21 and my S23. I have all of the settings correct battery management allows all the time. Thought just a Samsung feature.
