    Hi William,

It looks like we accidentally introduced a bug in the last app update. The team is working to resolve it and release another app update ASAP. This should be resolved shortly. Sorry for any trouble this may be causing.

    Hi Scott

Thanks for your updates.  Looking forward to the newer version of the app.

For What it's worth, mine stopped working and, after checking the settings, I get a pop-up that says,

"Please turn off DND. So that auto open and close service can work properly."
I hope that does NOT mean I have to turn off Do Not Disturb for it to work. I almost always have DND on.

    Thanks,

Same here. Have used for several years and have really enjoyed the product. Recently stopped working reliably for automatically approaching or leaving home when phone/app attached to Bluetooth device such as a vehicle or Bluetooth headphones (I use them when bike riding)
    Android.
    Samsung A31
    Bluetooth and location always on
    Power saving disabled
    All permissions on for app

Tried uninstalling the app, removing and re-adding the app, changing the distance settings.

Alexa and Google Home still work fine. And using the app to open garage doors manually also works fine.

Please email me when bug is fixed.

    Thanks!

I don't understand why developers feel that need to make updates all the time. It seems like most of the time all it does is introduce bugs that cause an app that was working just fine to quit working. Case in point haven't had a problem with my Tailwind for 3 years now all of a sudden it doesn't work. I have tried all kinds of different things and of course I tried sensor Diagnostics and all that does is lock up, so let me know when you figure it out, please!

Tried turning off 5G and that worked to make auto open happen but it was only one time. Can't say for sure it will always work.

Sorry guys. We had previously received reports about a bug in how our app was detecting the bluetooth connection with certain vehicles under certain conditions. For example, if a user arrived home and turned off bluetooth in their Android phone settings menu before the vehicle disconnected by shutting off the engine, our app sometimes missed that disconnect event. I don't know why someone would do that, but it was happening.

Another case is with certain EVs. On occasion somehow our app was missing the bluetooth disconnect events.

Our Android team made changes to the way our app "listens" for these bluetooth connect / disconnect events in our last app update and we can clearly see from the bug reports being sent by our helpful and understanding customers that it had an adverse effect on other users.

We tested that update for weeks before releasing it and it never failed once on all the test phones for all the testers, and it fixed the problems mentioned above.

Obviously there is something wrong somewhere and frankly we still don't know what is going on, so we are going to roll back those bluetooth related changes and make another APK beta available to anyone experiencing the problem to see if that fixes it.

We shared an APK yesterday but it still didn't fix the issue, and since we can't reproduce it despite non-stop testing, we can't find the root cause. I personally spent more than 12 hours drive testing yesterday - testing auto-open / close on various Android phones and it worked every single time.

If any of you would like to receive the APK beta version please email me at scottr@gotailwind.com and I'll send it to you as soon as it is ready.

I too suffered the same issue within the past week. I am very glad I found this post because I was about to delete and unplug everything and start from scratch to see if that would fix the issue. I assume the app will be updated in the standard way and will show up in the Google Play Store when it is ready? Love your product and thanks for the information.

I too hablve this problem. I noticed that it seems to work fine when Android auto is disconnected, but not when it is. When android auto is connected devices are only connected for calls and not audio, maybe that's the issue with the detection method.

In addition to what I wrote two days ago, my notifications voice stopped ("Your garage two is opening") and became a generic android notification sound.

Also, to clarify: sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Hit or miss, at this point

I've been hit with this problem also and have been following this thread and waiting for an update to the app to fix it.  My car is Tesla Model 3 and my phone is a Samsung Z-Flip4.  It was working very well for me prior to the May-30 update (which ironically says it fixes open/close problems).

Why is it it taking so long to release the rollback?

Graham,  that debunks my android auto theory. I'm on a Banksy s22 ultra, wife on a galaxy s20.

    Let's get this fix!

We have fixed these issues and have an app update pending with Google right now. The moment they approve the updated version we will release it to all users. Very sorry for the trouble.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Tailwind isn't perfect, it goes out now and then. But for 90 something bucks and no service fee, it's the best option available. They have server fees and maintenance people all paid for by our one time buying their equipment. And there's no way I'd get a system that charges me every month.
    Just my two cents.

The updated app is live. It’s a rollback on part of the code, but we also added Android Auto support in this version.

Auto-open / close is fixed and now you’ll be able to open / close from your in- vehicle screen if you have Android Auto.

Hi Neil. Do you see an update dated June 9th or 10th on the PlayStore? If you have that version available and you’ve updated and are having an issue then it’s related to something else. We can help you with that but you’d need to email support@gotailwind.com for dedicated support vs messages in the forum.

Our pleasure. So sorry for the trouble we caused with the last update. Hopefully some of you enjoy the new Android Auto feature. I have to admit, it's pretty cool seeing our app show up on the in-vehicle screen :)

Good morning Scott. Well, the auto open/close worked once. Did I miss something? Do I have to use Android Auto? I thought that everything would work like before. Thanks,Bill

Hi Dedi405 if you are using Android please make sure you have the latest update of the app installed and launch it at least one time on your phone. If you check the Google Playstore you'll see our app was updated on June 10th and you want to make sure you have that update installed.

If you have that update installed and your auto-open is not consistent then something else is going on and is most likely a setting somewhere. If you have reviewed the settings at the link below and confirmed you have the June 10th update and it is still not consistent please contact support@gotailwind.com for more detailed assistance.

Thanks for the update Scott.  Noticed mine stopped working at about the same time as everyone else in this post, read all of the comments, checked the Play Store around the time you said the update should be ready - updated and bang it is is working again.  Someone else already said it but I appreciate your team's effort to fix things when they are broken.  This is some of the best money I have spent, works pretty flawlessly most of the time with my Android and Tesla.  Can't say I have had the same success with the puck and my wife's iPhone, but I generally blame Apple for all of those problems.  Again well done, appreciate the quick update!!

Thanks Eric. The iPhone should be pretty solid as well. Is the Tailwind app up to date on her phone? The current iOS app is pretty reliable. If her app is current please email us at support@gotailwind.com so we can get things working reliably for her as well. There are some strange nuances that can interfere with it that we have learned through experience. The weirdest one is sometimes if the phone is laying flat it can cause one of Apple's algorithms to fail. We can troubleshoot everything remotely for her and with very little effort on her part. Couple of taps in the app.

Hi Scott. According to the app store the last update was 6-9. I am confused, but that doesn't take much. Thanks for your patience, Bill

This bug has been fixed and the updated app is now available on the Google PlayStore. As a bonus we added Android Auto compatibility, so you can now control your garage door from your in-vehicle screen if you use Android Auto.
