Excessive iOS app battery usage

Hi Tony. Thank you for your feedback. Is it possible that you are near a vehicle sensor regularly? There is one possible edge case where if you get close enough to a vehicle sensor for your phone to detect it, and then you move away from it, and then it comes back into range again but you move away from it - if this cycle repeats it can lead to battery drain.

Hi, how close is close? There hasn’t been a change (car is in the driveway). What is a ‘normal’ battery consumption rate for a relatively new phone (iPhone 14 pro).

It will depend on the range you have your vehicle sensor set it, but generally an iPhone can start picking up the sensor anywhere from about 10 to 20 feet away - but usually in the 10 to 15 foot range.

Normal battery usage is pretty much 0 unless you come and go often, or if your phone keeps picking up the vehicle sensor during the day and then losing it again within a few minutes.

We are addressing this use case shortly anyways. We are already internally testing an alpha version that eliminates that issue, so even if it comes in / out of range all day long for random lengths of time it won't matter.
