After setting up Tailwind on newer Android phones you may notice a message in your notification tray that "Tailwind is running" and you can't seem to get rid of it. Here's what it looks like:
The Android operating system turns this notification on by default and the only way to turn it off is for you to do it yourself. So how do you get rid of this annoying notification? Follow the 3 simple steps below. Oddly, if you find the service notifications are turned off but you're still seeing the "Tailwind is running" notification, turning the notifications ON and then back OFF again seems to fix it. Not sure why. Seems like an Android bug to us.

Thank you. Would you please tell us why it needs to run all the time? Is there a way to change the behavior of the app? For example I don't need the feature that automatically opens the garage. Thanks.
It needs to run all the time so it can detect bluetooth connections in the background (vehicle bluetooth or a vehicle sensor). If you do not configure any vehicles in the app then you can turn off the "always" permission. This is the only reason it is required.
FYI the algorithms used for detecting bluetooth connections are optimized so it doesn't cause excessive battery drain. The impact on battery life should be minimal.
