What we Store:
Your name, email address, an encrypted version of your password, the address of your garage, open / close history, and any preferences you set in the app such as auto-open distance etc.
The app has rolling storage for recent data such as distance from garage, bluetooth connection to vehicle present, connection status, commands sent. This is so that if something goes wrong you can tap on "Send error report" from within the app and will help us help you. The auto-open / auto-close features rely on a number of things, and we prefer to give you a better answer than "try all these things to see if it works". With error reports we can pinpoint the issue for you and resolve it quickly - but this information is not sent to us unless you purposely send it.
What do we do with your information? Nothing. To put it bluntly we would rather not even have it, but we have to keep the bare minimum on our server so the system will do what you want it to do, and can restore your settings when you get a new phone. For example, if you get a new phone, all your Tailwind settings will automatically transfer over for you.
Data Security Information:
Our server is on Amazon AWS, which is the most robust and secure service we could find. Our server password is changed regularly. All data exchanges are encrypted. The firmware on the device is signed and encrypted. The flash is encrypted.
